  Remote Training

Ten tips  to Deliver Amazing Remote Training
By Syd Strike

Before sharing my 10 tips, let me share part of one testimonial ...

“I really enjoyed the course and I thought your pacing, frequent feedback and learner involvement was great. I also liked how you flitted between the PowerPoint presentation and Gallery View so we weren’t staring at the same thing continually - it made it more personal which is hard on a Zoom call as opposed to in person (I will steal that for my own webinars!).

You were so encouraging to the learners and reinforced their points using previous learning which I loved.”

Isn’t that the feedback all trainers want following any form of training?

Remote training is now very popular, but it does generate a lot of negative feedback comparing remote with face to face, training room events.

It is possible to make remote training as engaging, interactive and learner centred as training room events … read more

  GOOD TRAINING CANT BE MEASURED

"If you can measure the training it can't be that good!"

When asked about how he would like Syd Strike Training to measure the success of the training programme we were about to deliver, a senior training manager in a large organisation replied “If you can measure the training it can’t be that good!”

He went on to explain that change of behaviour in employees is not just measured by skills but also by enthusiasm to apply the skills they have learned, and that in any case any progress measured by whatever system could not represent a real measure because other factors will have played a part in the change process. For example productivity may improve after skills training has taken place. However other factors may have contributed to the improvement. These factors may include better management or supervision, improved systems, better working conditions etc.  His preference therefore was to measure success more holistically, say at level four of the Kirkpatrick model - results - the effects on the business or environment resulting from the trainee's performance - and to resist trying to measure something that cannot in reality be measured.
