Syd Strike Training has supported businesses and organisations over the years by advising on ways of reducing sickness management, training managers and HR teams and incorporating sickness management in our management development programmes

There are three key areas that must be addressed and maintained to keep attendance high ..

  1. Leadership – that makes the working environment safe, healthy and a fun place to be.
  2. Procedures – that are communicated, understood and applied by managers and employees.
  3. Partnership – managers working closely with the human resources team to provide support to employees and manage the process effectively.

All of the work we provide for our clients whether consulting, training or coaching includes supporting managers and HR teams in these areas.

Leadership – Regular one to ones, listening and supporting (click for more)

Procedures – Following the procedures from start to finish, including making sure people follow the correct notification procedures, return to work interviews, treated seriously, not tick box exercises and training managers to be supportive and diligent in documenting.

Partnership – HR supporting managers by giving time to those who need extra help when conducting meetings, documentation or dealing with tricky situations. The secret is often to check in with HR before tackling what may be potentially a critical meeting in the process.
