At Syd Strike Training we weave team engagement into our management and leadership development programmes, and we design bespoke courses for our clients.
We recently delivered a course for an amazing management team at the stunning Clayton Hotel Chiswick, helping managers build on the success identified from staff feedback.
The starting point of the training was the positive affirmation
“We go above and beyond … because we love our jobs and have a feeling of ownership – loving Clayton Hotel Chiswick”
This is team engagement … and the purpose of the course was to encourage and develop more of this by equipping managers with more understanding and skills.
What did managers learn?
The course covered …
- The principles of staff engagement
- How to use staff survey findings to improve staff engagement
- Tools and behaviours that will help improve motivation and staff engagement
What did managers do?
Participating in a facilitation session, managers explored the principles of staff engagement using the Blessing White X model.
Managers identified positive and constructive comments raised in the hotel staff surveys and explored ideas for building on the positive and making improvements where these were required.
They participated in activities to learn how to improve staff engagement with an emphasis on effective listening skills
The course concluded with action plans for their departments with specific targets and dates for achieving them.
All of this with General Manager support and involvement and constant review to keep up the good work.
The enthusiasm is visible.
