Blind Square
Blindfold all of the delegates. Place an object (this could be a bucket or box) and a length of rope, minimum 2 metres length somewhere on the ground in the immediate area. Give the following instructions.
“Ladies and Gentlemen
Your task is to locate the length of rope and object. These are somewhere near to you. You are to make an exact square with the rope and place the object in the exact centre of the square. All of the team must then stand on the outside of the square facing the object. Blindfolds must be worn at all times. You have ten minutes."
The trainer may answer questions at this stage but once the game has started the trainer will not speak, other than to ensure safety.

Training in action: Night shift workers enjoy team building events |
|
The production teams at a north east factory took some time off from production to attend Syd Strike team building events in a local centre. To make the event all inclusive the team building took place during day time and on night shift. An array of team building apparatus was transported to the centre and the employees enjoyed the challenge of participating in team tasks and learning what can be achieved when a team pulls together. They participated in several team activities, working together to achieve success, followed by review sessions where they were able to relate the learning to work and action plan ideas for improved team working back at work, alongside their team leaders and managers. It was a great event and more importantly it produced some useful and practical ideas for team and production improvement. Syd Strike Training has worked with several production companies, helping them improve performance and motivation. Syd says “we are flexible and we understand that sometimes our clients are restricted by working hours. That is why we work evenings, nights and weekends to make sure our clients are able to enjoy the benefits of team development and management development offered through our unique training programmes.

Teamwork
There are four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. |
